Judges Matter is a very important organisation in South Africa as they bring attention and transparency to the judiciary. They have just released a great infographic showing the race breakdown of our judiciary, which is one of the most important pillars of our constitution and society. While white judges are still over-represented given the proportion of the population that white South Africans represent, it’s great to see that the single largest race group represented is black South Africans. If this trend continues, it bodes well for the continued, more equitable, transformation of our country.
